FAIRiCUBE is entering an exciting new phase! We’re crafting an exploitation and dissemination plan to ensure our tools, platforms, and workflows are not only visible but also widely adopted, reused, and built upon.
Aligned with our mission to deliver fit-for-purpose earth observation (EO) solutions, the plan focuses on maximizing the impact of project outcomes through open access, targeted stakeholder engagement, and capacity-building efforts.
Key elements of the exploitation strategy include:
- Identifying Key Exploitable Results (KERs) — including the FAIRiCUBE HUB and use case-specific innovations
- Developing tailored value propositions for stakeholders ranging from researchers and ai developers to city planners, NGOs, and journalists
- Defining impactful communication channels and training activities to support widespread uptake and long-term use
The FAIRiCUBE HUB: our flagship Key Exploitable Result
At the heart of the plan is the FAIRiCUBE HUB — an intuitive, cloud-based platform designed to make EO data more accessible, actionable, and useful for a wide array of users. We make a distinction between direct users—those who interact with EO data and tools directly—and indirect users, who rely on decision-ready insights derived from that data.
Key Exploitable Results for direct users (e.g., researchers, ai developers, private sector, service providers, eco bureaus)
- Streamlined data discovery and access: the hub serves as a centralized repository for accessing a broad range of EO datasets, simplifying the discovery process and ensuring that users can quickly locate relevant data.
- Advanced analytical tools and models: the hub includes tools like spatial data cubes, machine learning models, and Jupiter notebooks, which are essential for performing complex analyses without requiring deep technical customization. This functionality is particularly attractive to researchers and data scientists.
- Pre-defined workflows and routines: the hub platform offers pre-configured algorithms, validated scripts, and automated workflows that reduce setup time and facilitate faster data processing, appealing to users needing efficiency in routine data tasks.
- Cloud-based computational resources: the hub’s cloud-based processing capabilities allow users to handle large datasets without investing in their own hardware, making it accessible for users with limited computational resources.
Key Exploitable Results for indirect users (e.g., policymakers, city/regional authorities, NGOs, journalists, the public):
- Decision-ready information (DRI) : the hub offers DRI, which presents insights in formats suitable for direct application to decision-making processes, making it highly valuable for decision-makers, policymakers, and administrators who require actionable insights.
- Interactive dashboards and visualizations: the hub platform includes customizable dashboards and visualization tools, enabling users to communicate their findings effectively, a critical feature for journalists, NGOs, and public communication.
The hub bridges the gap between complex EO data and real-world decision-making. In addition to the hub exploitation plan, we also identified the key exploitable results (KERs) of the five FAIRiCUBE use cases, each offering targeted solutions tailored to specific sectoral and thematic needs. These will be available soon in the upcoming deliverable Exploitation and dissemination plan.
